Osteopathic Council of Ireland
The Osteopathic Council of Ireland (OCI) has 143 registered members.
There is currently no statutory regulation for Osteopathy in Ireland, and there is no protection of title for Osteopaths. The Osteopathic Council of Ireland is striving towards gaining regulation. Until this time, the OCI functions as a self-regulatory body to ensure that all members have obtained the necessary standards of education and training required to safely practice Osteopathy in Ireland.
Osteopathy is a well-known profession in Ireland, and we have been working recently on a public relations campaign to further raise our profile with the public and other health professionals alike.
Osteopaths in Ireland all work in private practice, there are no restrictions on our practice. Patients can self-refer to see an Osteopath, or they may be recommended to us by another health care professional.
Our president is Cameron Paulberg, and any communication can be directed to info@osteopathy.ie.
