Hanna Tómasdóttir
President
Hanna has a busy osteopathic practice in Copenhagen, Q klinik, and also works as a health columnist for the biggest weekly women’s magazine in Denmark, SØNDAG, where she write about physical and mental health. Hanna is president of the Danish national osteopathic organisation, Danske Osteopater, and led their political lobbying campaign for regulation, which was achieved on 1 July 2018, when Denmark officially recognised osteopathy.
An Icelandic born Dane, Hanna was originally trained as a physiotherapist in 1997, before switching professions, and completed her D.O. degree in Osteopathy in 2006. In 2017 she graduated with a Masters degree in Positive Psychology. email: hanna@osteopathyeurope.org
Lluís Horta
Vice President
Lluís originally qualified as a physiotherapist, before graduating from the Escola d’Osteopatia de Barcelona in 2005, and he has worked as an osteopath ever since. He runs the Osteopatia Mallorca Clinic in Palma, Mallorca, and lectures in Osteopathy in Spain and Brazil.
He serves as the CEO of the Registro de Osteópatas de España (ROE) and as Vice President of the Federación de Osteópatas de España (FOE). He has also been the Spanish representative at the EFO, FORE and Osteopathy Europe for many years, and also was the Chair of the Spanish CEN Technical Committee working on EN16686 (Osteopathic Healthcare provision).
At the 2016 Rio Olympics, Lluis was the osteopath for the Spanish Olympic Sailing Team and he is today very involved in various osteopathic research projects.
Maurice Cheng
Chief Executive
Maurice has a background in marketing and strategy consulting, and has for the last eighteen years specialised in supporting the development of professions, working across both regulators and professional associations. He is at present the Chief Executive of the Institute of Osteopathy in the United Kingdom, which has a membership of over 4,000 osteopaths and students, and he and the iO Council and team are working to build on the platform of regulation towards universal access and recognition for osteopaths.
As the Advisor to the Osteopathy Europe Board, Maurice serves to provide best advice to Board members during their discussions around strategic and operational issues. email: maurice@osteopathyeurope.org
Julien Bosc
General Secretary
Julien Bosc graduated as an osteopath from the Université Libre de Bruxelles which is based in Belgium. He works as an osteopath in the capital.
He serves as a board member of Osteopathie.be (the major professional body representing osteopaths in Belgium) and through other mandates in local organisations. It is within his mandate at Osteopathie.be that he defends the interests of osteopaths, promotes osteopathy in Belgium and advocates the best osteopathic care for every patient.
Always close to the scientific world, Julien is a scientific collaborator within the “Unité de Recherche en Sciences de l’Ostéopathie” at Université Libre de Bruxelles.
Glynis Fox
Board Member
Glynis qualified from UCO (formally BSO) in 1997. She worked in London after graduating, practicing as a locum across the UK before setting up her own practice in Edinburgh, where she is currently the principal Osteopath. She has been a coach and mentor for her junior colleagues for over ten years. She is an active member of local and national osteopathic organisations. She has an interest in working in general practice and with people with persistent pain. She focuses on mentoring and increasing community within osteopathy. She has lectured across the UK, Europe and New Zealand on mentoring and leadership.
Robert Grech
Board Member
Robert is the founder and president of the Malta Association of Osteopaths (MAO). He was the first osteopath to be registered in the country’s national register where the profession is currently regulated. He worked extensively to maintain high standards of patient care within the country and also currently assists the regulator as a sub-committee member of the profession.
Tomas Collin
Treasurer
Tomas Collin has a great interest in health promotion, especially the osteopathic community’s role in contributing to patient health education and building healthy public policies. In addition to being a licensed osteopath and physiotherapist, he holds a MSc in clinical practice. Tomas is the elected president of the Norwegian Association of Osteopaths, combining this role with clinical work in Færder, south of Oslo, where he also works with an elite handball team. Tomas is heavily involved in the Nordic Osteopathic Association and Osteopathy Europe, being a board member since 2023 and chairing the education committee since 2021.
Laura Lee Calonius
Board Member
Laura Lee Calonius graduated as an osteopath from the Metropolia University of Applied Sciences in Helsinki. She works as a part of a co-operative clinic with 11 other osteopaths. Laura is the president of the Finnish Osteopathic Association since 2018 having been a board member from 2016 and the representative for FORE/EFO/Osteopathy Europe since 2017.
Since January 2020 she is a part-time member of the Metropolia UAS faculty of osteopathy, and head of the Master’s Degree Programme is Osteopathy. Laura has an enthusiastic and positive attitude towards promoting, supporting and developing the position of the osteopathic profession in Finland and internationally.
