Osteopathy Europe is a significant body in the osteopathic community, dedicated to advancing the profession, promoting high standards of care, and improving public health through osteopathy.

OE plays a crucial role in setting and maintaining high standards for osteopathic practice across Europe. This includes ensuring that osteopathic practitioners are well-trained, certified, and adhere to ethical and clinical guidelines. High-quality education and continuous professional development are emphasized. By supporting the national efforts in influencing health policies and regulations, it aims to ensure that osteopathic care is recognized and integrated into national healthcare systems.

We support member organisations working towards legal recognition and regulation of osteopaths with their national governments, promoting patient safety, standards of education, practice, and ethical behavior.

We build supportive working relationships with and between member organisations, ensuring that good practice is shared and implemented, projects are well managed and supported, and communications are regular and informative.

With our 12-month membership, you’ll gain access to resources, support, and a vibrant international community dedicated to promoting knowledge exchange among osteopaths, researchers, and other healthcare professionals and advancing excellence in osteopathy.

Who can join

Membership of OE is open to professional associations and regulators that are committed to high standards of practice and education in the osteopathic profession providing your organisation with the opportunity to make an impact on the development of the osteopathic profession.

There are two types of membership, Full and Associate members. Please read the section Joining criteria below before you apply so you can confirm which type of membership you would like to apply for.

Joining criteria

Full member (Annual membership fee: €20 per member, plus €200 (waived if less than 10 members), capped at €14.500)
  • Your organisation is a legally registered, nationally representative, osteopathic membership associations or regulatory institutions from a country in Europe
  •  Your organisation is representative of osteopaths or osteopathic physicians in a country where osteopaths are recognised and/or regulated by law OR
  • Your organisation is actively working towards legal recognition or regulation, and committed to using the CEN standard for osteopathic practice as a baseline standard
  • The fee you pay is based on number of members and for a period of 12 months.
Associate Member (Annual membership fee: €1.300)
  • Your organisation is a legally registered, nationally representative, osteopathic membership associations or regulatory institutions from a country outside Europe
  • Your organisation is representative of osteopaths or osteopathic physicians in a country where osteopaths are recognised and/or regulated by law OR
  • Your organisation is actively working towards legal recognition or regulation, and interested in using the CEN standard or WHO Benchmark for osteopathic practice as a baseline standard
